After a long hot day not all of us like the idea of slaving in the kitchen, there are plenty of easy cold options and then there’s the all out cheat and getting takeaway. It’s something I try not to do often but with the increase in restaurants you just have to try the new ones or in this case a trusty Chinese order of duck fried rice with spring rolls and sweet and sour chicken balls with chips. Despite the mountain of hot food its OK because I didnt get hot and bothered cooking it.
Making your own at home is just as if not more rewarding but we don’t add the msg like they do so it will never be quite the same umami taste. It’s a luxury to be enjoyed every so often because of cost and the fact all the salt and fat is not very good for you but damn it’s good.
